Privacy Policy
ReceiptFiling helps users process receipts and invoices received by email, extract useful purchase information, save source documents to the user's selected Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, and maintain a receipt log in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
Information we process
We process account information such as your email address, authentication identifiers, receipt-processing settings, and connection status. When you use ReceiptFiling, we also process emails and attachments that you send or forward to your ReceiptFiling address, together with extracted receipt or invoice information such as vendor, date, subtotal, tax, total, currency, invoice number, and description.
Connected storage data
When you connect Google, ReceiptFiling requests the drive.file permission, which is limited to files ReceiptFiling creates or files you explicitly make available to the app. When you connect Microsoft, ReceiptFiling requests delegated Files.ReadWrite access so it can create and maintain the ReceiptFiling folder, upload receipt documents, and update the ReceiptFiling Excel workbook in your OneDrive.
ReceiptFiling does not request broad Google Drive access beyond drive.file. Microsoft access is used for the connected OneDrive and Excel filing workflow. Google and Microsoft authorization tokens are stored securely so the service can continue filing documents you send after the initial connection.
How information is used
- Authenticate your account and provide the ReceiptFiling service.
- Receive and process receipt and invoice emails and attachments.
- Extract structured receipt information.
- Create and update the Google Drive/Sheets or Microsoft OneDrive/Excel files used by your account.
- Diagnose failures, prevent duplicate processing, and maintain service security.
Service providers
ReceiptFiling uses service providers to operate the application, including Netlify for hosting and serverless processing, Supabase for authentication and application data, Resend for inbound and transactional email, OpenAI for document information extraction, Google for Drive, Sheets, and Google account authorization, and Microsoft for Microsoft sign-in, OneDrive, Excel, and Microsoft Graph authorization. Information is shared with these providers only as needed to operate the relevant feature.
Data storage and retention
Your original receipt or invoice documents are stored in the connected Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive you selected. Structured receipt records and application settings are stored in ReceiptFiling's application database. ReceiptFiling retains application data as needed to provide the service and may retain limited operational records for reliability and security. You may stop using the service or revoke connected-provider access at any time; files already created in your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive remain in that account unless you delete them.
Data sharing and sale
ReceiptFiling does not sell your personal information or connected Google/Microsoft user data. ReceiptFiling does not use connected storage data for advertising.
Security
ReceiptFiling uses access controls, encrypted connections, and encrypted storage for sensitive Google and Microsoft connection credentials. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but access to production credentials and user data is limited to what is necessary to operate the service.
Your choices
You can revoke ReceiptFiling's Google or Microsoft access from the relevant account permissions and delete files created in your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. You may also request account or application-data deletion through the support contact provided in the ReceiptFiling application.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
